Merell Burkett - Grammy Nominee

Merell is a Grammy-nominated pianist that has been working in the music industry for 15 years. He studied at Tulane University and also attended Nocca in high school. He has toured and performed around the world on stage and on live TV. Merell plays every Sunday in his church in addition to his bigger performances. Merell is especially good at teaching in jazz, playing by ear, improvisation, rock, etc. He is also available for accompanying sessions - he can play anything he hears (crazy, right?)

Merell is excited to use his experience and knowledge to help others succeed and achieve their dreams. lessons will focus on technique, theory, and ear-training. Merell is also excited to help students navigate through the industry with the knowledge He’s received over the years.

Collin comes from a family of musicians and has over ten years of teaching experience and is the founder of Piano NOLA. She is classically-trained in piano under such teachers as Madelyn Trible (retired UL professor), Faina Lushtak (Tulane), Frank Heneghan, and Igor Resniaski. She has extensive experience competing as classical pianist and has helped to organize competitions for students. Collin has also taught private lessons and group lessons at Loyola and has performed in recitals across the state. 

She has experience with students of all ages.

 Collin also studied classical voice (“opera”), and is currently studying contemporary voice with a teacher from Los Angeles.

In other pursuits, Collin is a model, actress, fiber artist, avid reader, incurable estate sale junkie, and owned by a Shihtzu named Petunia.
